Kitten Care

Welcome to our Kitten Care page at Merliashaz Bengals. Here, we provide valuable advice on how we care for our kittens and maintain their health and happiness.

Proper Nutrition

Ensuring your kittens receive a balanced diet is essential for their growth and development. We recommend high-quality cat food like Royal Cannin or Science Diet that meets their nutritional needs. We always supply a sample bag of Royal Cannin and a tin of Mother and Kitten mousse, plus a sachet of Royal Cannin wet food.  We also incorporate Wombaroo kitten milk powder when necessary to help both mums and kittens (if a large litter) to cope.

I would recommend a raw diet that your kitten is keen on but from personnal experience I would not recommend raw chicken. It has caused digestive issues not only in my cats and kittens but others.  Please cook and then give to them. I'm not an expert on food but I have learnt by my own experiences to be careful.  Bengals seem to have a very delicate system easily disrupted by off foods or moving them onto other foods too fast.

Umbra's Babies

The best care for a Bengal kitten includes providing a warm, safe, and stimulating environment. You should also socialize your kitten, play with them, and help them learn basic skills and get to trust you. Bengals are very intelligent and a bonded trust is required to get the best out of your relationship

Health  and Wellness

We organise regular veterinary check-ups for monitoring your kittens' health, which includes Vaccinations, parasite control, microchipping and with the 2nd vaccination we desex to ensure that the kitten that we sell you as a pet doesn't end up providing more kittens for the Cat Shelter.

Socialization and Training

Socialization plays a huge key role in shaping your Bengal kittens' behavior and temperament.

Encouraging positive interactions with humans and other pets to help them develop social skills which are so important with a Bengal as they rely on feeling safe and secure in their home environment and then being able to trust their new family. Training sessions can also be beneficial in teaching them basic commands and litter box etiquette.
